Vision & Mission

On 27th July, 1964, Moran College was established. The College is situated in the heart of the Moran Town, Charaideo district. Moran College is one of the pioneering academic centres of higher education of Upper Assam with a commitment to create best human resources. The college has been listed under section 2(f)   of the UGC Act, 1956 on 1st December 1978 and is affiliated to Dibrugarh University. It has been reaccredited with Grade “B” by NAAC. It is a multifarious college imparting quality education in Arts, Science and several others certificate courses. Besides regular courses in Arts and Sciences it imparts education through its Study centre of Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU) and Directorate of Open and Distance Learning (DDOL). At present the total strength of students of the college is around 3000, total teaching Staff:42, non-teaching staff:19. The college is playing pioneering role in conducting community service programmes in the adopted village and the surrounding areas through NSS .

Vision: The vision of the college is to enhance the intellectual level of the students to handle issues and challenges effectively in their personal and professional life as well as to develop their critical thinking and problem solving capacity to make the students excellent human beings on earth. The college aims to offer quality higher education in the field of humanities and science to the door steps of those belonging to the rural greater surroundings of Sepon, Moran, Khowang, Lengeri, Tingkhang, Mahmora, Nitaipukhuri Mouza and to all the students coming for. Further it tries to make the students, teachers and local communities aware of  the recent developments in the global scenario. It aims to make the college a centre of excellence in the field of higher education through quality education which will create generations of students with self-confidence, ability and quality to face the challenges of life with commitment towards society and the nation.

The missions of the college are: The mission of the Moran College is to enhance students to acquire necessary knowledge , skills, competency , capability  to adjust in the occupational, digital and competitive world. The college aims at all round personality development of the students through co-curricular and extra-curricular activities in association with various social and cultural organizations. The college is trying to provide the best platform to the students by giving them an opportunity to develop capacity building to face the challenges of life and at the same time college aims to create morally and culturally sound  human resources for  a peaceful and sustainable development and nation building through community service .The  college is providing   an opportunity for quality higher education to the deprived and marginalized section of the society in this area. Apart from  the  academic activities, the college aims to  promote local and national games and sports and encourages students to make sports as their career. The college is always ready to promote gender equity.
