The Department of English at Moran College is a dynamic and committed academic unit dedicated to the study of language and literature. Since its establishment, the department has worked to promote literary awareness, critical thinking, and effective communication skills among students. It offers Higher Secondary and Undergraduate programmes under the affiliation of Dibrugarh University, covering British, American, Indian, and postcolonial literature. The department emphasizes analytical ability, creativity, and linguistic competence to prepare students for higher education and diverse career opportunities. Faculty members actively guide students through seminars, group discussions, literary activities, and mentoring, especially supporting learners from rural and economically modest backgrounds. By fostering academic excellence and holistic development, the department creates an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
