In 1964, Assamese department of Moran College has been established. Assamese department has been establishing themselves since from the beginning. Mr. Atul Gogoi & Ananda Bora with their hard work & contribution make a department success with Padma Chutia, Dr. Dayananda Borgohain, Ila Borgohain , Dr. Pradip Hazarika, Dr. Bolin Hadique they made a great success to the department. During 1st semester the seat capacity of this department is 50. The students in our department are from both urban and rural area. The students which are passed out from this department has been establish in some College, School, Universities etc. In 2005, Runumi Sonowal has been passed out with 1st class 1st under Dibrugarh University from our Department. Now she has been work as an Professor in Naharkatiya College. In 2015, Debojani Bokolia has been passed out with 1st class 2nd under Dibrugarh University. In Assamese department the extra curriculum activities & many Programme had been organize to bring interest on the activities.
