Myself Dr. Mamoni Phukan Borgohain, Associate Professor of Botany department of Moran College which is situated in Charaideo district of Assam. My field of research work is on Ethnobotanical study of a most significant Tai Phake tribe of the greater Tai community of Assam. The peoples of this tribe are inhabitants of nine different villages of only two districts- Dibrugarh and Tinsukia and they exhibit a huge number of heritage and culture that are traditionally inherited from their forefathers. Plant taxonomy, plant physiology and biochemistry are the three most favourable topics that performed in my 32 years, a long period of teaching life. A minor project under University Grant Commission on Ethnomedicinal plants. Contributed to many activities for the betterment of the college by conducting examinations, maintaining the eco-friendly environment of the college under the banner of ECO CLUB, etc.
Socially I am fully
entangled with the All Assam Women Employees Association as a President of the Moran
Branch. The association is a Govt. registered association of Assam. The ninth
triennial conference of this association has successfully completed recently
where hundreds of delegates met each other under this conference. I am also engaged with the Indian Science Congress, Botanical Society of Assam, Red Cross Society, Bishnujyoti Sangeet Mahavidyalaya of Tinsukia, etc.
